Hmmm...went for a job interview at 'The Pier' today (posh home accessories etc) and all was going well until the manager refered to company ethics. Basically, although it's really icky that children in some places have to work long hours for a few pence a day (making what will become expensive goods)the company 'can't avoid' buying from such sources, it's absolutely essential to their profits. Right - and this is a company that's proud of it's partnership with UNICEF. Call me over sensitive but it kind of put me off a bit.

And I found a great book today printed in the seventies and called 'Fashion Handicrafts' which is looking oddly promising.
