Hmmm...went for a job interview at 'The Pier' today (posh home accessories etc) and all was going well until the manager refered to company ethics. Basically, although it's really icky that children in some places have to work long hours for a few pence a day (making what will become expensive goods)the company 'can't avoid' buying from such sources, it's absolutely essential to their profits. Right - and this is a company that's proud of it's partnership with UNICEF. Call me over sensitive but it kind of put me off a bit.

I've found a good source of info on it all though so I'll be reading up:

But in a more cheerful note i'm knitting like a demeted granny, including Opal Petticoat socks for my mummy and a commissioned scarf and bikini thingy. And I found a great book today printed in the seventies and called 'Fashion Handicrafts' which is looking oddly promising.

Hmm...it is more than a little dodgy, though good to know you are concerned about ethical businesses; I had a rant about Gap using child sweatshop labour for their overpriced products to Emma V in work a while ago and she didn't seem to care:/

I hope you get something sorted out, either in Lush or somewhere else fun.

We'll have to get your camera set up so that it works with the computers here ready for the big photo shoot next month!
Then I will go promoting crazy ^_^ We'll be famous in no time!
